Frequently asked questions
Does this upload my photo anywhere?
No — the image is loaded and the captions are drawn directly onto a canvas in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I position the text anywhere, not just top and bottom?
Yes — each caption has its own position slider covering the full height of the image, and you can add as many captions as you want, each independently positioned.
What if my caption is too long for the image width?
It wraps onto multiple lines automatically, centered around wherever that caption's position slider is set.
Can I change the text color?
Yes — classic white-with-black-outline, black-with-white-outline, or yellow-with-black-outline, plus a size slider and a toggle for forcing ALL CAPS (on by default, matching the classic meme look).
What file types can I upload, and what do I get back?
JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP in, a PNG out at the same resolution as your original photo.
Your files are never uploaded. Gotool.xyz runs entirely as JavaScript in your browser. Your files are processed in memory and never touch a server — nothing to breach, nothing to clean up. Close the tab and it's like it never happened. The only thing we count is which tool ran (just the name, e.g. "merge") so we know what people find useful — never your file, its name, its size, or anything in it.
