Video to MP3 Audio Beta

Tested and confirmed working · June 25, 2026

Pull the audio track out of a video and save it as an MP3. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Click to choose a file or drag a video here

Supports .mp4, .webm, .mov, .mkv, .avi

Runs on a real video engine loaded into your browser (FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly) — about 30MB, downloaded once and cached for the rest of this visit. Nothing is uploaded; the extraction happens on your device. A video with no audio track will fail to convert — there's nothing to extract.

How it works

  1. Upload the video with the audio you want to keep.
  2. Choose an output bitrate from 128–320kbps.
  3. Extract and download the MP3.
  4. The extracted MP3 keeps the same length as the audio in your original video.

Frequently asked questions

What bitrate should I choose?

320kbps for the best quality, 128kbps for the smallest file.

Does this work with any video format?

Most common formats are supported; the tool reads the audio track directly.

Is the video re-uploaded to a server?

No, extraction happens locally in your browser.

Will extracting audio affect the original video?

No, the video itself is only read — this saves a copy of the audio track, nothing is changed.

What if the video has no audio track?

You'll see an error, since there's no sound to pull out.

Your files are never uploaded. Gotool.xyz runs entirely as JavaScript in your browser. Your files are processed in memory and never touch a server — nothing to breach, nothing to clean up. Close the tab and it's like it never happened. The only thing we count is which tool ran (just the name, e.g. "merge") so we know what people find useful — never your file, its name, its size, or anything in it.
