Headings (levels 1–3), paragraphs, lists — ordered and nested, not just flat bullets — hyperlinks, text color, and images all carry over in order, including a floating image with text wrapping around it, not just simple inline ones — and so do bold, italic, and underline. Tables come across as a real grid at their real size (not always stretched to fill the page), including merged header cells, real background shading, and borders that show only where the source document actually has them — a table used purely as an invisible layout grid stays invisible, rather than always drawing lines that were never there. A real multi-column section splits into side-by-side columns too. Two of these — the image text-wrap and the column split — are close approximations of a genuinely complex layout, not a pixel-identical reproduction of exactly where Word would break each line. What's still out of scope: character styles (formatting inherited from a named style rather than applied directly), a table nested inside another table's cell, and a small number of legacy image formats (like EMF/WMF from very old Office clipart) that can't be decoded in-browser — those are skipped with a note in the result message.
