Supports .pdf

Adds text — click anywhere on a page to place it, type, click elsewhere to set it down. This isn't a full PDF editor: it can't touch what's already on the page (no editing or removing existing text/images), and it can't draw, sign, or fill form fields. Password-protected PDFs aren't supported.

How it works

  1. Upload the PDF you want to edit.
  2. Click anywhere on any page and type your text.
  3. Save to download the edited PDF.
  4. Click the × on any text box to remove it, any time before you save — there's no drag-to-reposition, so just delete and re-place it if you need it elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit existing text in the PDF?

This tool adds new text on top of the page; it doesn't rewrite existing PDF text.

Is there a limit to how many pages I can edit?

No, edit as many pages as you need.

Can I move text after placing it?

Not by dragging — click the × to remove a text box and re-add it wherever you need it instead.

Can I change the font size of new text?

Yes, pick a size (Small/Medium/Large/X-Large) before placing it — color isn't adjustable; new text is always a dark near-black.

Can I add text to a scanned PDF?

Yes — since you're placing new text on top of the page, it works the same on a scan as on a text-based PDF.

Your files are never uploaded. Gotool.xyz runs entirely as JavaScript in your browser. Your files are processed in memory and never touch a server — nothing to breach, nothing to clean up. Close the tab and it's like it never happened. The only thing we count is which tool ran (just the name, e.g. "merge") so we know what people find useful — never your file, its name, its size, or anything in it.
