- Type the text or URL you want the QR code to encode.
- Choose whether the code is raised (emboss) or carved in (engrave), and set how deep.
- Pick an error-correction level — higher levels stay scannable even with some print imperfections, at the cost of a denser code.
- Set the tag's width, height, and thickness, then pick sharp or rounded corners.
- Optionally add a keychain or lanyard hole — the code automatically shifts to avoid it.

Frequently asked questions
Is my text or URL uploaded anywhere?
No — the QR code is generated and the 3D model is built and exported entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
What file format does this export?
A standard binary STL file — the format nearly every 3D printer and slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer, and similar) expects.
What's the difference between raised and engraved?
Raised (emboss) modules sit on top of the plate. Engraved (intrude) modules are carved into it instead. Engraved depth automatically caps itself so at least 0.8mm of solid plate is always left underneath — enough to stay printable, even on a thin plate.
What does the error-correction level do?
A higher level (Q or H) keeps the code scannable even if part of it is damaged, dirty, or slightly misprinted — but it packs the data into more, smaller modules. For most short URLs, the default (M) is a good balance; go higher only if you expect the printed part to get scuffed or dirty.
Will the printed code actually scan?
Yes — the geometry this tool generates has been verified by actually decoding the produced 3D model with a real QR reader. If the preview warns that modules are very small, though, use a larger plate, shorter text, or a lower error-correction level for a more reliably scannable print.
Do I need a 3D printer to use this?
You'll need access to one (your own, a friend's, a local makerspace, or a print-on-demand service) to actually print the exported STL file — this tool only designs and exports it.
